Dog Mask

Since 2018, Dog Mask has been creating dark music for dark times. With an experimental approach drawing from numerous influences, the Ontario-based musician and producer fuses the intensity of goth, post-punk, industrial, and darkwave music with the forward-thinking sensibilities of electronic music, art rock, internet media, and the avant-garde.

As the name suggests, Dog Mask's releases are thematically concerned with the relationship between social performance and internal instinct—between what we are forced to do and what we desire.

Their lyrics touch on topics such as: technology, the internet, media, dreams, nightmares, mental disorders, psychology, transhumanism, dysmorphia, communication, cultural hegemony, critical theory, hyperreality, hauntology, commodification, systemic oppression, exploitation, alienation, decay, the supernatural, human atrocities, and existential horrors.

It is the firm belief of this musician that you must thoroughly understand your shadows to discover by deduction what remains—the light.
